Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, an esteemed Senior Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon, has been actively contributing to the field of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery since April 2009 at Aziz Fatimah Medical College. With a trajectory marked by numerous fellowships starting in 2000, he has progressed through the ranks, serving as SR, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor in prestigious healthcare institutions nationwide, including Jinnah Post Medical Center Karachi (JPMC), Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) Islamabad, and Medina Teaching Hospital Faisalabad. His professional journey extends globally, encompassing valuable experiences at renowned international establishments such as King Khalid University Hospital in KSA and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, India. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Head of the Orthopedic and Spine Department at AFMDC. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed actively engages in the education and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Aziz Fatimah Medical College. He oversees the academic progress of MBBS students and plays a significant role in the education of DPT students at the college. Furthermore, his commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident in his involvement with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan (CPSP), where he plays a pivotal role in FCPS exams in orthopedics. Notably, he serves as a Reviewer of MS theses at Dow Medical University Health Sciences, Karachi. Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed’s expertise lies in hand trauma, sports injury trauma, orthopedic trauma. In Spine surgeries he is doing very best in spinal fusion, spinal deformity correction, and spinal fractures and dislocations. His dedication extends to providing optimal care for trauma to the musculoskeletal system, with a particular focus on spinal, pelvic, and limb trauma. He is specially trained in deformity correction surgeries using the technique of Ilizarove system of trans osseous osteo synthesis. Additionally, he demonstrates a special interest in Orthoscopic Surgeries and excels in Robotic Surgeries, particularly in the domain of joint replacements.
