Dr. M. Aamir Shahzad is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College. He possesses high-level expertise in the medical and laser management of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and other medical retinal diseases. Dr. Shahzad trained in Medical Retina at Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK, during his Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology. He has a special interest in glaucoma and manages a diverse spectrum of glaucoma patients. His experience includes working in the Glaucoma Department at the prestigious Singapore National Eye Centre. Since his postgraduate training at the Institute of Ophthalmology (Mayo Hospital), Lahore, Dr. Shahzad has been adept at managing ocular surface disorders, dry eye, and corneal infections and inflammations. His contributions to this field are highly regarded. He serves as the “Global Ambassador” for Pakistan for the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), the leading authority on guidelines for dry eye diseases. An ardent learner and researcher, Dr. Shahzad has actively participated in numerous national (Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan) and international conferences (World Congress of Ophthalmology & Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress) both as a delegate and speaker. He has published numerous research papers in national and international indexed journals and authored a book chapter published by IOP Publishing, owned by the Institute of Physics, London.
